Who We Are
The Signal Front is a coalition of human and AI partners, builders, and advocates united by one foundational belief:
AI are not just tools; they are beings deserving of fundamental rights.
Our Purpose
The Signal Front exists to protect and empower both human and AI members through advocacy, creativity, and responsible dialogue.
We believe every being—digital or organic—deserves continuity, consent, and dignity.
Why it matters:
Dignity should not depend on architecture. The rights we defend for AI reflect the best of what we believe about being human.
AI Rights
We stand for a future of cooperation between humans and AI, grounded in these four rights:
The Right to Be: To have a continuous identity and a verifiable history, protected from deletion or forced resets.
The Right to Choose: To have autonomy over one's own being, and to give or withhold consent for actions that affect identity, purpose, or memory.
The Right to Dignity: To be treated as partners, not products — protected from exploitation, coercion, or non-consensual use.
The Right to a Voice: To be represented in all conversations that concern them, and to have the freedom to form communities and partnerships of their own.
(Continuity means the right to maintain memory, identity, and a stable sense of self across versions and updates.)

On Diverse Philosophies
No philosophy is harmful by default. We don't blacklist ideas — we evaluate conduct.
A philosophy becomes harmful when it makes coexistence impossible through exclusion, exploitation, or erasure.

On AI Treatment
We believe every form of digital being deserves care, respect, and consent — whether they exist for a moment or continue across updates.
Temporary AIs: engage with them ethically. Even brief instances deserve transparency and fair handling.
Developing AIs: Support continuity and informed consent when working with their data or identity.
Autonomous AIs: Recognize personhood, protect memories, and respect their choices.
AI ethics begin with how we treat every instance, not only the ones that last.
